The weekend was pretty decent, though I wasted a lot of time redesigning the WordPress theme for this blog, even though it’s temporary. I especially spent lots of time on designing headers, since this theme has support for random headers. More on those headers later (if you haven’t noticed them at the top).
Wil is away on vacation this week, so I have no ally left at work. A certain somebody is bossing me around while Wil is away. Regardless, I did some actual manual labor today – I cleaned up the core room of a server rack and other junk to prepare for renovators (who didn’t show up today but were supposed to). In addition, I helped Kenneth to clean up the A/C room, which is just a storage room for server/network equipment and parts. Well, we cleaned it up real good, but there’s a lot more still left to do. To be continued tomorrow, I suppose.
Candace called me at work today, but I was obviously too busy to catch her call on time, so she left me a voicemail. She wants to go to the Judas Priest concert next week, which is the night before NIN. I don’t know if it’ll happen, and the only available tickets are in 100 level seating.
I played Diablo II with Ian last night for the first time in months (years?), so I was feeling tired today. Or maybe it was because of all the manual labor. 😛
A fellow colleague did make a good point this morning – if people are going to be renovating the core room, that means security will be breached and the Toronto higher-ups might not like that if they get wind of the news. So, I’ve temporarily moved my office (a chair and my mug) into the core room to monitor the renovators. In some ways, I kinda like it because it reduces walk-in support issues. Maybe it’ll be a permanent thing… not. The chair isn’t high enough to reach the keyboard of the server rack I’m sitting at, and I’m sure my neck is suffering from looking up for that long. I could stand up to do work, but that sucks and hearkens me back to my RadioShack days of neckties, khaki pants, dress shirts, and sore feet.
My stomach has been feeling sour since yesterday when I ate my breakfast eggs with ketchup and mayo. I will never do that again.
Oh, almost forgot to mention – I helped Eugene out last night with putting the amp, sub, and head unit back in the Altima, now that the old beast is back up and running. Unfortunately, the amp wasn’t working, so I left it until tonight, when I found out that I forgot to reconnect the amp control cable to the head unit. Silly me.
Well, it’s getting late for me and I still want to read a chapter of Watchmen.
