TERA started its closed beta this past weekend, and I jumped in thanks to a trial IGN Prime subscription. Somehow, I managed to convince Ian to join me, which was surprising given that he’s avoided the MMO genre and hype since its inception.
Fortunately, he really liked it and decided that he would pre-order it. I was on the fence because I liked the combat and how polished the game was because it took great elements from WoW, Aion, and RIFT, to name a few; but at its core was a genre meant to suck your time dry which still irked me and was the cause for my departure from WoW. Still, given that Ian and I have gamed together through thick and thin, I decided not to leave him hanging and pre-ordered it myself.
The first beta actually went quite smoothly, which is impressive given the nature of beta tests. I’m curious to see the real world statistics when launch day comes.
Here I go again. One more quest, one more quest, one more quest…
