So, Adam went back to Ontario on Monday. We all went out for a quick breakfast at McD’s that morning before we dropped him off at the bus depot and sent him packing. However, he might come back in two weeks if he can land a job here. The thing is, he’s been spending his time during his two week stay doing nothing but bumming around and playing DDO (which he and Colin have subsequently got me playing, though it is pretty inexpensive to play as far as MMO’s go – but more on that later), when he could have seriously gone job hunting and nabbed himself a job immediately for realz, dog. Sorry about that, gangsta inflections are fun, but I digress. Colin seems to think that Adam might come back, but it’s hard to say at this stage of the game. Adam also reminds me of myself when I was younger – picky and indecisive about jobs that I wanted to work. However, after many years, I’ve learned that you sometimes have to take what you can get to survive in this world. Look at me, for example. I left IT, hoping to never return, and look where I ended up – back at IT! I may not be in it for long, but it’ll keep me fed and my bills paid until I can find something better later on.
Anyway, it’ll be cool if Adam comes back. He’s interesting enough and we all seem to have similar interests in extracurricular activities (read: gaming). He also likes subs in his anime, so that makes him okay in my book. Hehehe.
We started playing D&D 3.5 on Sunday for the first time. James was DM’ing. However, an odd thing occurred – right before I was heading out, Priscilla called me and asked if I wanted to hang out, and I told her that I wouldn’t be able to because of the game. However, I jokingly asked if she wanted to join us geeks in playing D&D, and she actually agreed. So, we went over, introduced her to everybody, and rolled her character. Surprisingly, she got along famously with Crystale, who doesn’t get along with most of the girls here in Thompson, so that was a twist. Unfortunately, our sleeping beauty of a DM decided to take a nap after working all night, and he was late in coming over. The nerve of that guy, I tells ya! The game went relatively well, and I actually enjoyed it. However, I rolled a ranger, so I might roll a rogue instead, since I love sneaking around and stabbing people. It’s fun.
It’s been quiet since Adam left. I hung out at Colin and Crystale’s tonight, and we just watched Robot Chicken and a crapload of videos on The Onion. That site is just so hilarious, I could spend hours on it (and we nearly did!). Crystale also showed me a bunch of her family photos from Ontario. She has some sisters and cousins that are HAWT!
Gosh, a late night for me again. I thought I got used to waking up early, but ever since I got this new job, I’ve been sleeping in and not getting up until 7:00. I need to get my ass in gear and wake up earlier. Sleeping at 21:00 for once would be a good start.
