Are you a Skywalker or a Stormtrooper?
Luke, like his father before him, dared to be different, and not just because the Force was strong in him. He helped blow up a Death Star into kingdom come.
In contrast, Stormtroopers all dress the same, walk the same, talk the same, and shoot the same (terribly, might I add). So what do you think their success rate is?
When it comes to the world of business, you see the same thing.
- Mark Zuckerberg is a Skywalker.
- Seth Godin is a Skywalker.
- Steve Jobs was a Skywalker.
So which would you rather be?
Your story is your lightsaber
Most of your competitors don’t even know that telling their story effectively can help them win at business marketing.
In fact, you won’t even need to.
You can always get somebody else to do it for you.
Stories aren’t just for entertainment
Everybody has a story, and every story is meant to be heard. People are behind every business, and their stories are just waiting to be shared.
Stories move people. They inspire, build loyalty, and start revolutions.
When I was a boy, I was a loner with no friends, so I used to sit at home and write stories. After I got to high school and found more people like me, I shared my stories with them and built better friendships because of it.
If a loner can make lifelong friends with stories, then a business can gain loyal customers doing the same.
People dislike being sold to by generic fakers
People are smarter these days. They can tell when you’re not being real with them, and they dislike canned responses.
So why do businesses continue to talk to their customers with a rehearsed salesy script?
Customers that hear it are thinking, “Get lost.” But if you dare to be honest and create a connection with your customers, they’ll be begging you, “Please, tell me more.”
One small step for man, one giant leap for business
You only have to take one simple step – start a conversation.
